Bedside Manner Inventory Controls: Open the Menu or Interact
Inventory Controls
- Bedside Manner lists Tab for inventory on PC.
- Controller inventory uses Select.
- Opening inventory and interacting with a hospital object are separate actions.
Open inventory with its own input
Bedside Manner assigns inventory to Tab on PC and Select on controller. Use that menu-access action when you want to check equipment. Do not substitute the interact input and expect it to open the same interface; the developer lists those as different controls.
Know which action belongs to the object
For ordinary interaction, the PC list gives E and the controller list gives X. Mobile is described as tap to interact. Keep those entries separate from Tab and Select so an unsuccessful menu attempt does not turn into confusion about a puzzle object.
This distinction is useful during a group run. If a friend asks you to interact with something, establish whether they mean the object in the hospital or checking the equipment menu. Clear action names reduce the chance that both players keep describing different screens as though they are attempting the same task.
| Device | Inventory | Interact |
|---|---|---|
| PC | Tab | E |
| Controller | Select | X |
Return to the objective after the menu check
Before opening inventory, keep the next objective in mind. Once you finish checking equipment, return to that task rather than searching without a purpose. Menu access is a supporting action; the escape still involves exploration, puzzles, doors and generator power.
The Bedside Manner generator guide covers a particularly useful distinction: operating a generator and leaving it have their own listed inputs. It is a practical next reference when the problem has moved from opening a menu to managing an objective interaction.
