Choose a response that preserves the route
A creature encounter changes the immediate priority from solving an objective to surviving the interruption. Keep the action and the next destination connected. Running without a destination can leave you deciding every turn under pressure, while a kick should be followed by a deliberate choice about where to move.
The experience explicitly says there are no hiding spots. A dark corner or a familiar-looking room should therefore not replace the kick-or-run plan. The hiding guide answers that rule directly; the creature guide focuses on responding to an encounter, and the individual action guides supply the controls and practical movement decisions.

Questions about survival
Can I rely on a hiding spot?
The official game description says there are no hiding spots. Prepare kicking or running instead of importing another horror game's hiding rules.
Does one kick guarantee the next objective is safe?
Do not treat the action as that guarantee. Use it to support the next movement decision and keep the unfinished objective separate from the immediate response.
